Salt River Heritage Society organised a walkabout at the Two River Urban Park, recounting, in particular, the Battle of Salt River which took place on the 1st March 1510 in this area.

Workshop for GUFI – Gugulethu Urban Farming Initiative
Samora CAN’s Riders check in daily with the most vulnerable members of the community,using bicycles to deliver food and tablets to people that are homebound because of age or disability.
During this time our team in Samora Machel initiated a Community Action Network CAN group – a self-organised support system aimed at mitigating the impact of the crisis.

Cissie Gool House is an old public hospital in Woodstock (Cape Town) and home for people who have been evicted or would have been displaced by unaffordable rent and property prices.
“Kids as seeds of change” is a initiative aimed at supporting the establishment of a Reggio Emilia inspired Early Childhood Education Centre in Samora Machel (Philippi), Cape Town, South Africa.

Denver Arendse is a resident at Cissie Gool House, Woodstock, Cape Town. Cissie Gool House was occupied in April 2017. It now provides temporary accommodation to families who need a home or have been evicted.

In 2016 the Forum hosted a workshop to explore ideas for the transformation of Princess Vlei.
In 2017 the ideas emerged from that workshop were further developed in a co-design workshop documented in this video.
